Important developments
Changes to the Technical Manual Parts 1 and 2 on 14 September
On 14 September 2009 updated versions of the Technical Manual Part 1 and 2 will be published on the Land Registry website.
Parts 1 and 2 will be amended to reflect the introduction of “one time password tokens” for use by administrators when they log on. The one time password device, or token, will replace the USB token currently used by administrators, and will authenticate the administrator to Land Registry.
New administrators will receive the one time password token.Existing administrators will continue to use their USB token until it expires.It will then be replaced by a one time password token.The new token needs no additional software to support it. It will generate a new password for use each time the administrator logs on. If the password entered is correct the administrator will be granted access to the system.
Other improvements have also been made to the Technical Manual Part 2, to give customers shorter but more comprehensive guidance on how to use the network.
