Customer Service and Operations

Information Systems

Building work has now begun on the new home for our Information Systems Directorate (ISD) in Plymouth. The new building will house all of our ISD staff and will allow for necessary expansion. Delivery of our e-business applications, and a fully electronic conveyancing system, will be reliant upon the expansion of our information systems.

The Plymouth site will provide us with a modern and secure facility and would allow us to create an extra 100 jobs if we need to. Chief Land Registrar, Peter Collis, attended the ceremony in late November, which saw the first earth being lifted on the building site.

We are currently developing a remote, third mainframe site to provide additional business continuity assurance and resilience. The site is scheduled to be fully operational around September 2004.
